Thank you to the Edgerton Fire Department - Jon Koroluk with Michael Krinbill and Billy Bogen! What a great way to start off your day then to hang out with firefighters and talk about safety. Students were tested on their knowledge of smoke alarms and safe places to meet outside in case of an emergency. We played Truth or Dare, watched as Nolan, Malcolm and Rylynn imitated a smoke detector, and learned a new fist bump involving fries! The fire chief asked families to talk at home about what place outside would be a safe spot to meet in case of an emergency like a fire AND wants parents to burn some food to test those smoke detectors! Just kidding...but checking to make sure your smoke detectors aren't expired is also a piece of the homework. I am currently holding 16 'treat bags' hostage int eh classroom until these two tasks are completed. |
