How to play: you need a piece of graph paper, 2 dice, two marker colors and a partner. Players take turns rolling the dice, multiplying them together and draw an array from their half of the graph paper. Kind of like Tetris, students need to fit their arrays as tightly as possibly because you want to stay away from your partner's arrays. The first person to draw an array that overlaps or touches their partners array loses! |
We concluded our multiplication unit with a game Array Battles! They had lots of fun and got to practice their multiplication skills too. Some have even been playing in their free time! Talk about incentive.
